BALLISTIC RUBBER

Northstar International offers ballistic rubber products for live fire shooting ranges, shoot houses, and scenario training facilities. These products are specifically designed to provide a safer range environment by capturing and containing rounds thereby minimizing the hazards of ricochet and bullet splatter. Airborne lead particulates are also diminished in range environments that have ballistic rubber installed on areas that may be impacted by a round.

Our ballistic rubber products are manufactured through a cold-molded process that combines recycled rubber particles and a proprietary urethane binder to produce high quality, consistent products that are extremely dense and durable. This formulation and process ensures our ballistic rubber blocks and panels have exact tolerances and an excellent surface finish quality.

Compare this to other manufacturers of cold-pressed ballistic rubber and you’ll see that their products have approximate weights and high dimensional tolerances due to inconsistency in density. In addition, the finished surface of their ballistic rubber products isn’t smooth or level and often times the outside surfaces develop mold.

Northstar International ballistic rubber products protect infrastructures and provide a safer environment for personnel during small arms live fire weapons use. Installing ballistic rubber panels on areas of indirect fire such as sidewalls, baffles, and ceilings diminishes the hazards of ricochet, splatter, and airborne lead particles. This is ideal for tactical training in dynamic ranges where shooters can advance downrange from the firing line to engage targets at close range or at acute angles.

Applying acoustic ballistic rubber panels on indirect fire areas offers the same ballistic qualities as our standard panels but also reduces noise levels in the firing range ensuring a much quieter firing range. The panel has surface channels that are designed to lower noise levels and carry a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) rating of .65. The NRC is a scalar representation of the amount of sound energy absorbed upon striking a particular surface.
Ballistic rubber blocks are meant for direct fire and are ideal for a primary bullet trap backstop in firing ranges. The blocks are also used in wall construction of shoot houses and advanced training facilities to capture rounds, defeat ricochet, reduce splatter, and minimize airborne lead particles.
Our formulated proprietary compound and cold-molded process produces ballistic rubber panels and blocks that have very tight tolerances, are consistent in density and elasticity, and provide superior stopping power to decelerate and trap small arms projectiles. These products have been independently tested and field-proven for their excellent ballistic stopping power and fire resistance qualities.
Northstar International has years of experience providing ballistic rubber blocks, panels and acoustic range panels to civilian, military, and law enforcement customers worldwide.
